Moving to Edinburg -what should I know?

Hey folks, We're a young couple and With a population of 103K, Edinburg is a mid-size city. You can expect to pay around $968 for rent here. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Moved here from Atlanta about 12 years ago. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Still getting used to safety but Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely underrated and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Fairview) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great craft beer places. it's been a really good experience overall.

Bought a house here in 2022 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The public transit is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely pretty good and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Old Town) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
