Anyone else love living in Edmond?

Longtime lurker here, I'm a college student here and The median home value here is around $324,900, which seems about average. Median household income is $102,032, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Is this normal for Edmond?

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a electrician, 52, moved here 5 years ago from Miami. I've lived in Downtown and Springfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Property taxes are high
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The cultural scene situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for retirees. improving vibes, walkable.
- Springfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $40K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in Westside for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- The housing market scene is solid

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Austin about 5 years ago. The main reasons were weather and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are wild, gas is challenging.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Definitely worth checking out..
