Moving to Edmond for work -advice?

Hey, With a population of 95,618, Edmond is a smaller city. Crime rate is something to consider -Edmond sits at 145.7 per 100K. The median home value here is around $324,900, which seems about average. You can expect to pay around $1,313 for rent here. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What would you do? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I've lived in North for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure
- The school system scene is average

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely decent and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Oak Park) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is excellent in most areas.

Used to live on the East side, now on the Sunset side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.
