Household incomes average around $53,661 in Edwardsburg. Poverty rate is 15.9%, which is higher than I expected. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in South area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

Came here for school and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The school system is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value weather, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely excellent and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Westside) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Used to live on the Midtown side, now on the Downtown side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.

Moved here from LA about 4 years ago. I genuinely enjoy living here. Still getting used to nightlife but No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Westside for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Four distinct seasons
- The school system scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
