Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from San Francisco about 11 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is decent.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. No regrets on my end..
