Is Edwardsville worth it salary-wise?

Hi all, I'm retired and Poverty rate is 3.6%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Does this match your experience? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
