Not sure if this has been asked before, but We have two kids and Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $114,200, which is actually reasonable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. Has anyone dealt with this? Property taxes are high but you get good services.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Westside. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in engineering. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Indian.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much affordable but now it's average.

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in South area are better than expected. Kids love it here.
