Alright, I relocated for work and The unemployment rate is 1.4%, which is pretty low. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What would you do?

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Uptown for 15 years. Moved from Seattle for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.
**Employment:**
tech is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is decent - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Uptown schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited shopping options. Limited entertainment options. And housing market can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 6/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want safety, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in Fairview for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- The cultural scene scene is improving
The downsides:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Definitely worth checking out..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is healthcare. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

The food scene here is pretty good. Tons of great Asian places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The cost of living is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Meadowbrook. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Korean.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 1 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Hope this helps!.

Bought a house here in 2017 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
