Curious what people think. I'm a remote worker and Average temperature is around 73--F, so it's warm year-round. Homes are going for about $296,100 on average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Does this match your experience?

Moved here from Austin about 9 years ago. it was the best decision I ever made. Still getting used to weather but No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Pine Hills. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in construction. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in Uptown for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
- The pet-friendliness scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
