Hey, I've been here for 5 years and Rent is about $1,424/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 73--F, so it's warm year-round. Poverty rate is 11.7%, which is around average. The median home value here is around $296,100, which seems about average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Any advice would be great. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely challenging and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Oak Park) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
