Moving to El Cajon for work -advice?

So, Rent is about $1,790/month for a decent place. With a population of 105K, El Cajon is a mid-size city. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Worth the trade-offs? The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The cost of living is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.
