Quick question about El Campo

Hi all, Just moved here 12 months ago and Household incomes average around $67,356 in El Campo. The median home value here is around $183,400, which is actually reasonable. Poverty rate is 11.8%, which is around average. Rent is about $973/month for a decent place. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What do you all think? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
