First post here. Born and raised here. Rent is about $973/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $183,400 on average. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Thoughts? Cheers. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Used to live on the Highland side, now on the Westside side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Highland. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Korean.
No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Eastside. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in education. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
