The good and bad of living in El Centro

Anyone else feel this way? I've been here for 15 years and The unemployment rate is 5.9%, which is about average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Thoughts? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Bought a house here in 2016 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

I work in government here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is better than expected. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.
