Working remotely from El Mirage

OK so I'm a teacher here and Household incomes average around $74,764 in El Mirage. With a population of 35,823, El Mirage is a smaller city. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Any advice would be great.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I'm a writer and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is solid and there's always something going on.

The food scene here is solid. Tons of great Thai places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Used to live on the Uptown side, now on the Fairview side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

The food scene here is hit or miss. Tons of great farm-to-table places. it was the best decision I ever made.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely pretty good and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Westside) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
