Housing in El Paso compared to Tampa

Crime rate is something to consider -El Paso sits at 1,100.5 per 100K. Household incomes average around $70,063 in El Paso. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. What do you all think? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Used to live on the Fairview side, now on the South side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 11 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Close to major attractions
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. No regrets on my end..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from San Diego about 7 years ago. The main reasons were family and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Highland area are improving. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 13 years ago. The main reasons were family and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are affordable, gas is tough.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Feel free to reach out with questions..
