Best value neighborhoods in El Paso?

Genuine question:

I travel for work but El Paso is home base. The weather took some getting used to but I actually love it now.

The weather averaging 67F year-round is {weather_feel}. I saw that rent in Northeast is now /mo which is insane.

The school system in Northeast is actually pretty good. I don't understand why more people don't talk about Northeast.

Curious if others agree.

Born here, left for 10 years, came back. I feel like {city} is becoming more expensive without getting better.. The city has transformed a lot.

I'd highly recommend checking out Mission Hills. The suburbs vs city debate here is real.. Plus the food options around there are great.

Gonna share a detailed perspective since most replies are pretty surface-level.

I'm a newlywed in Canutillo. Been here since 2016. The parks system here is underrated..

Neighborhood-wise, Canutillo has really transformed in the past few years. Las Cruces area is the up-and-coming spot right now. Sunset Heights is where I'd look if budget is a concern.

Job market for logistics: hit or miss. For nonprofit: lively.

Nightlife is decent if you know where to go.

Good luck!

I'll give you a thorough answer since I've been through this exact situation.

I moved to Central from Columbus about 11 years ago. Initially I loved it immediately. But after settling in, Nightlife is decent if you know where to go..

A few things I'd recommend:
- Check out Central and Northeast for housing
- Get a car if you don't have one - transit is limited
- Try the farmers market on Saturday mornings

The biggest adjustment was cost of living. I keep discovering new spots even after {yr} years.. Overall I'd give El Paso a 9/10 for retirees.

Worked in government here for 5 years. Public transit is {transit_feel} - you'll want a car.. The market is great right now if you're in that field.

Homeowner in Northeast since 2017. Traffic has gotten noticeably worse in the past year.. Property values have dipped slightly but recovered which is great for equity.

I'll give you a thorough answer since I've been through this exact situation.

I moved to Manhattan Heights from Cleveland about 8 years ago. Initially everything felt unfamiliar. But after settling in, I've never felt unsafe walking around {hood} at night..

A few things I'd recommend:
- Check out Manhattan Heights and Mesita for housing
- Explore beyond the popular neighborhoods
- Download the local transit app even if you drive

The biggest adjustment was job market. People here are friendlier than I expected coming from {other}.. Overall I'd give El Paso a 7/10 for families.

Parent of two in Mission Hills. Schools are decent here. Nightlife is decent if you know where to go.. Would recommend visiting before deciding.
