El Sobrante CDP (Contra Costa County) quality of life -am I missing something?

Hi all, Military spouse here. Poverty rate is 7.3%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $695,900, which is pretty steep. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. What are your go-to spots? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Moved here from Chicago about 9 years ago. I genuinely enjoy living here. Still getting used to public transit but It's not for everyone but it works for us..
