Anyone else love living in El Sobrante CDP (Riverside County)?

Hello, I work in automotive and Average temperature is around 66--F, so the weather is moderate. Poverty rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. With a population of 13,206, El Sobrante CDP (Riverside County) is a small town. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Any advice would be great. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a accountant, 39, moved here 12 years ago from Chicago. I've lived in Old Town and Uptown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Good internet infrastructure
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Dating scene is rough
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The dating scene situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Old Town: Great for couples. decent vibes, walkable.
- Uptown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Chicago, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $100K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 1 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Lakewood for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
- The cultural scene scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Rising rent and home prices

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Highland for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- The cost of living scene is average

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much growing but now it's average.
