Been meaning to ask this. I'm single, late 50s, and With a population of 1,602, El Valle de Arroyo Seco is a small town. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Would love some local perspective.

I've lived in Riverside for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The cultural scene scene is decent
The downsides:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Feel free to reach out with questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
