Elgin housing prices -when will it stop?
First post here. The unemployment rate is 4.4%, which is about average. Should I be concerned?

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 14 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
