Elim is underrated, change my mind

First post here. We're a young couple and Average temperature is around 49--F, so expect cold winters. Crime rate is something to consider -Elim sits at 63.3 per 100K. Rent is about $895/month for a decent place. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Diverse community
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Rising rent prices
- Not very walkable
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Boring for young people
Let me know your thoughts. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

My experience has been mostly positive. it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Miami about 15 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are competitive, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
