OK so Poverty rate is 15.0%, which is around average. You can expect to pay around $751 for rent here. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Uptown. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in engineering. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Indian.

No regrets on my end..

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The safety is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 8 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
