Best kept secrets of Elk Grove, CA

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Rent is about $2,180/month for a decent place. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Any advice would be great. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've lived in West for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:

- Growing food and restaurant scene

- Active local events and festivals

- The dating scene scene is average

The downsides:

- Summers can be brutally hot

- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. No regrets on my end..
