Elk Grove in the winter — how bad?
Random thought, It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Worth the trade-offs?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Denver about 5 years ago. The main reasons were school and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
