Is Elk Grove walkable?

I'm a remote worker and Crime rate is something to consider — Elk Grove sits at 212.0 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $2,180 for rent here. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Let me know your thoughts. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Midtown. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in legal. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.
