Life in Elk Grove as a young professional

Hello, I'm a remote worker and Crime rate is something to consider — Elk Grove sits at 212.0 per 100K. Median household income is $122,229, which feels pretty solid for the area. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. What do you all think? TIA! The suburbs are where most families end up.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cultural scene. it's been a really good experience overall. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The pet-friendliness is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely pretty good and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Eastside) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
