Internet providers in Elk Plain?

Curious what people think. Crime rate is something to consider -Elk Plain sits at 279.4 per 100K. Homes are going for about $440,300 on average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What are your go-to spots?

I work in hospitality here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is decent. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Came here for retirement and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The walkability is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Came here for school and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The traffic is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much established but now it's underrated.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Springfield for 13 years. Moved from Charlotte for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is pretty good - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Springfield schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Not very walkable outside downtown. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 9/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in Uptown for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Affordable housing options
- The cost of living scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Definitely worth checking out..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely hit or miss and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
