Job hunting in Elk River -tips?

Rent is about $1,269/month for a decent place. The city has invested a lot in new development. Thoughts?

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much affordable but now it's decent.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely solid and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Westside) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Used to live on the East side, now on the Cedar Grove side. Completely different vibe. the quality of life is solid.
