First post here. Rent is about $999/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 0.7%, which is pretty low. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Has anyone dealt with this? The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a chef, 37, moved here 13 years ago from Chicago. I've lived in Fairview and Lakewood, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The walkability situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Fairview: Great for singles. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Lakewood: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Chicago, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $90K-$130K here.
**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

The food scene here is average. Tons of great sushi places. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Used to live on the Old Town side, now on the East side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Moved here from Pittsburgh about 12 years ago. I have mixed feelings honestly. Still getting used to nightlife but Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
