Median household income is $73,052, which feels about average for the area. The suburbs are where most families end up. Has anyone dealt with this? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Eastside. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Southern.
No regrets on my end..

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The safety is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in South area are average. Kids love it here.
