Not sure if this has been asked before, but My family moved here when I was a kid. Rent is about $1,625/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- The weather scene is improving
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
