The good and bad of living in Elkridge

I relocated for work and You can expect to pay around $2,206 for rent here. Household incomes average around $135,412 in Elkridge. Homes are going for about $438,200 on average. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Anyone in a similar situation? Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely improving and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Oak Park) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
