OK so I'm single, late 50s, and Homes are going for about $438,200 on average. Median household income is $135,412, which feels pretty solid for the area. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Would love some local perspective. Any help is appreciated. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Atlanta about 6 years ago. The main reasons were work and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Strong job market in several industries
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is tough.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Sunset for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- The nightlife scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
