What surprised you most about Ellicott City?

OK so Military spouse here. The median home value here is around $644,300, which is pretty steep. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Anyone in a similar situation? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Miami it's solid.
