Ellington is underrated, change my mind

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm retired and Homes are going for about $70,000 on average. Rent is about $678/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 1,104 people. Household incomes average around $33,953 in Ellington. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Good internet infrastructure
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited public transit
- Not very walkable
- High property taxes
Am I overthinking this? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

I'm a chef and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.
