Starting a business in Elmhurst?

Hello, My family moved here when I was a kid. Crime rate is something to consider -Elmhurst sits at 74.7 per 100K. The median home value here is around $532,800, which is pretty steep. Homes are going for about $532,800 on average. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What neighborhoods would you suggest? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Tampa about 8 years ago. The main reasons were school and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is improving.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Uptown for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Decent public transit for the size
- The pet-friendliness scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Hope this helps!.
