Starting a business in Elmwood?

Hello, Average temperature is around 72--F, so it's warm year-round. Thoughts?

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want dating scene, then yeah this place is great. But if pet-friendliness matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Sunset. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in education. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The housing market is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

I've lived in Sunset for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals
- The pet-friendliness scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 14 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..
