Working in Elon -salaries realistic?

Random thought, Crime rate is something to consider -Elon sits at 65.5 per 100K. Poverty rate is 4.6%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $355,800 on average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Any help is appreciated. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Miami about 8 years ago. The main reasons were school and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from San Diego about 13 years ago. The main reasons were weather and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is tough.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Happy to answer more specific questions..
