What Eloy does better than anywhere else

Hi all, The median home value here is around $243,600, which is actually reasonable. Poverty rate is 17.9%, which is higher than I expected. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Is this normal for Eloy? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much established but now it's underrated.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from New York about 3 years ago. The main reasons were family and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. No regrets on my end..
