Hello, I'm originally from Atlanta and Homes are going for about $664,200 on average. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What would you do? Thanks for reading. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 7 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Westside for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions
- The cultural scene scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Definitely worth checking out..
