Best areas to explore in Emeryville?

Been living here since 2010. Median household income is $120,302, which feels pretty solid for the area. Poverty rate is 5.3%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 59--F, so the weather is moderate. Homes are going for about $598,300 on average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Worth the trade-offs? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Phoenix about 7 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are growing, gas is excellent.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I work in construction here and it's been a really good experience overall. The job market for my field is solid. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Meadowbrook area are decent. Kids love it here.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The cost of living is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
