Starting a business in Emeryville?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Born and raised here. Median household income is $120,302, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $598,300, which is pretty steep. Rent is about $2,833/month for a decent place. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. Am I wrong here? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much pricey but now it's average.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is challenging.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.
