Worst things about Emporia nobody talks about

Hi all, I've been here for 18 years and Median household income is $52,787, which feels on the lower side for the area. With a population of 24,098, Emporia is a small town. Homes are going for about $127,500 on average. It's a a small town city with about 24,098 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Close to nature
- Easy commute
- Strong sense of community

Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- High property taxes
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Not enough green space
Should I be concerned? The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
