Endwell vs Tampa -which is better?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm retired and Crime rate is something to consider -Endwell sits at 659.8 per 100K. Household incomes average around $72,742 in Endwell. The unemployment rate is 1.9%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $72,742, which feels about average for the area. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Would love some local perspective.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Sunset. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Hope this helps!.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Meadowbrook for 1 years. Moved from Tampa for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
construction is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is decent - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Meadowbrook schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Limited shopping options. And housing market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 5/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in Old Town for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Close to major attractions
- The cultural scene scene is improving

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for family and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The pet-friendliness is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
