Remote worker thinking about Englewood

Hello, Military spouse here. Crime rate is something to consider -Englewood sits at 187.1 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Worth the trade-offs? Appreciate any input. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from San Francisco about 14 years ago. The main reasons were work and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Uptown for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Affordable housing options
- The nightlife scene is tough

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Good luck with whatever you decide..
