Enid is underrated, change my mind

Not sure if this has been asked before, but It's a a smaller city city with about 50,821 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Enid sits at 411.3 per 100K. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Is this normal for Enid?

Bought a house here in 2020 and it was the best decision I ever made. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Baltimore it's underrated.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely decent and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Eastside) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely average and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Springfield) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much pricey but now it's decent.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Close to major attractions
- The dating scene scene is solid

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Fairview. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in construction. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in West for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The healthcare scene is tough

The downsides:
- Limited entertainment options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Nashville about 3 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good internet infrastructure
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited entertainment options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Midtown. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
