Studio apartments in Ennis -options?

Been meaning to ask this. The unemployment rate is 2.1%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 10.0%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $225,900, which is actually reasonable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Pros:
- Diverse community
- Low taxes
- Strong sense of community
- Walkable downtown
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited public transit
- Few job opportunities in some fields
Does this match your experience? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Portland about 15 years ago. The main reasons were family and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are affordable, gas is excellent.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 10 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The pet-friendliness is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
