Remote worker thinking about Enoch

Hey folks, You can expect to pay around $1,129 for rent here. Median household income is $81,767, which feels pretty solid for the area. The city has invested a lot in new development. Should I be concerned? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I've lived in Fairview for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
- The community vibe scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Houston it's decent.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a teacher, 42, moved here 3 years ago from Miami. I've lived in Pine Hills and Midtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Decent public transit for the size
2. Strong job market in several industries
3. Lots of new development happening
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Property taxes are high
3. The job market situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Pine Hills: Great for remote workers. solid vibes, walkable.
- Midtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $60K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The nightlife is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Minneapolis about 12 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
