Considering Enterprise vs Los Angeles — help me decide
Not sure if this has been asked before, but Average temperature is around 68°F, so the weather is moderate. The unemployment rate is 4.4%, which is about average. The median home value here is around $449,300, which is pretty steep. Homes are going for about $449,300 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. Is this normal for Enterprise? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The food scene is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Highland for 10 years. Moved from Pittsburgh for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.
**Employment:**
education is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it's improved dramatically in recent years. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Highland schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Limited shopping options. And job market can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 9/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Riverside. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in marketing. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Southern.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value weather, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (South) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is challenging in most areas.

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.
